Day 1
Arrival to La Paz

  • Pick up at La Paz International Airport and transfer to hotel.
  • Check in hotel and rest.
  • Overnight in La Paz

Day 2
La Paz - Moon Valley (B)

  • Enjoying a light breakfast with coffee and juice at a slow pace
  • Visit the famous Witches Market of La Paz, locally known as Mercado de los Brujos, is host to all kinds of rare handicrafts and trinkets – as well as tinctures and oils that allege to assist in search for wealth or to help identify infidelity – and you’ll discover this firsthand today alongside your private guide.
  • Later, visit the colonial Church of San Francisco, and vibrant Sagarnaga Street, another popular place to find well-made charms.
  • You’ll also visit Murillo Square where the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Government Palace and Parliament buildings are located, learning about the city’s political past along the way, before arriving at the ever-popular Jaen Street, a colonial neighborhood where a number of interesting museums are clustered, including a replica of the semi-subterranean temple of Tiwanaku culture.
  • Visit to the outskirts of the city, where an astonishing formation has taken shape over the millennia. Known as the Moon Valley, this all-but-lunar region is host to a mountain composed mainly of clay (as opposed to rock), which has eroded in a unique way, leaving a cascade of spires stretching across the valley.
  • After Making completing the 30-minute drive to reach the valley, set out with your guide as they lead the way on a brief hike to explore the region at your own pace.
  • When the time is right, visit a small ceramic workshop where you’ll learn about pottery in Bolivia and also have the chance to purchase a keepsake if you so choose.
  • After a day exploring La Paz and the Moon Valley, you will be returned to your hotel and rest.

Day 3
La Paz - Tiwanaku (B,L)

  • Breakfast at hotel.
  • Strike out to visit the city of Tiwanaku, capital of an ancient civilization by the same name. Located roughly 45 miles outside the city of La Paz and near the south-eastern shores of Lake Titicaca, Tiwanaku was once the largest settlement in the Latin world and is considered to be the birthplace of all American civilizations.
  • In this ancient and breathtaking city, visit the Kalasasaya Temple (Sun Temple) and the semi-subterranean Akapana Pyramid (Earth Pyramid).
  • Visit to an impressive museum filled with ancient objects and tools that stand as proof of just how advanced this civilization really was.
  • Back to hotel and rest.

Day 4
La Paz - Sucre (B)

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Board a flight in La Paz with direct service to Sucre. Approximate flight duration is one hour.
  • Pick up at Alcantari Airport in Sucre and transfer to check in hotel.
  • Begin with a visit to the House of Freedom Historical Museum where you’ll discover an impressive display of Bolivian precious and semiprecious stones.
  • Afterward, carry on to La Recoleta viewpoint to take in sweeping views of the city before touring the Asur Textile Museum which celebrates local indigenous art.
  • Finally, enjoy a panoramic trip through the city to see the facades of San Lazaro and Santo Domingo Churches, the two most popular in the city, and wrap up the day at Bolivar Park.
    ( Please note: The House of Freedom Historical Museum is closed on Sunday’s and Monday’s and will be replaced with the Museum of Treasure)

Day 5
Sucre - Colchani (B)

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Depart from Sucre this morning to reach the mining city of Potosi, once the silver mining capital of South America and has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
  • Visit San Lorenzo Church to appreciate its beautiful façade
  • Tour Casa de la Moneda – the national mint of Bolivia – the exterior of the Tower of Company, the exterior of the Arch of Cobija
  • Wrap-up the experience with a trip to the artisan’s market in the colonial area of the city where you can peruse and purchase local handicrafts.
  • After exploring the market square, carry onward from Potosi to reach the famed Salt Flats of Bolivia, found near Colchani in the Salar de Uyuni region of the country.
  • Check in hotel and overnight in Colchani

Day 6
Colchani - Salar de Uyuni (B)

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Trip to the salt flats found in and around Salar de Uyuni with the scenery is a paradise for photography lovers due to the incredible optical effects no matter the time of year.
  • Continuing onward, you will then visit Incahuasi Island which is located in the heart of the salt flat. The largest of a group of islands in this isolated ecosystem, Incahuasi is populated with giant cacti species that measures up to 26 feet in height; an other-worldly sight in this seemingly-lunar landscape.
  • Following your time on the salt flats, you will be delivered to your hotel in Colchani.
    Please note: Incahuasi Island is inaccessible during the wet season, or when rains flood the flats. Rest assured, the scenery is still spectacular.

Day 7
Colchani - Ojo de Perdiz (B)

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Begin your day in the salt flats of Bolivia with a trip to the Train Cemetery found in the middle of the desert. Here hulking relics from a bygone area rest like fossilized creatures in the otherwise empty land.
  • Afterward, visit the magical villages of Sud Lípez and San Cristobal, two sleepy towns found in the southern section of the flats where you’ll get a feel for local life in this remote corner of the world.
  • Your next stop is the Rock Valley, where a group of large red rocks are found. Here you’ll break for a refreshing picnic lunch in the countryside.
  • Returning to your vehicle to continue onward to your hotel in the region of Ojo de Perdiz.

Day 8
Ojo de Perdiz - Salar de Uyuni - La Paz (B)

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Depart from your hotel at dawn today to begin a day of exploration in Ojo de Perdiz.
  • Your first stop of the day is to the Stone Tree, silent testimony of the erosion of the earth and the passage of the years, which is found in the Siloli Desert, a flatland without vegetation.
  • Just beyond the desert, you’ll find the Reserve Eduardo Abaroa, home of the Red Lagoon. An amazing example of a bio-diversity in a totally desolate region, it is a fascinating testament to the power of adaptability.
  • Continuing onward, visit to the geyser Sol de Mañana (or Morning Sun), so named because it is typically active only in the morning.
  • Next, discover the hot springs of Polques, heated by volcanic activity underground throughout the region.
  • Stop for a picnic lunch when the time is right, then explore the Green Lagoon, unique for the active microorganisms that give color to the water.
  • At the end of the tour, you will be dropped of at Salar de Uyuni Airport to catch your onward flight to La Paz (Approximate flight duration is 50 minutes)
  • Pick up at airport and transferred to hotel.
  • Ovenright in La Paz.

Day 9
La Paz - Home (B)

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Depart to airport and take a flight to come home.

– Immediately after submitting your reservation you will receive a receipt of booking by email. Within 36 hours of submitting your reservation you will receive a confirmation email confirming the booking status. Please do not book any airline tickets until you receive the status of your booking.
Redemption
– You will receive an confirmation email (e-ticket) after your order was received. Complete Operator information, including local telephone numbers at your destination, are included on your Confirmation Email (e-ticket). When you reserve your attractions and services you will be asked to print e-tickets to present when you arrive at your destination. You must print the e-tickets and take them along on your trip; they are your proof of purchase.
